The Most 'Promiscuous' Animals (Photos)

When it comes to monogamy, animals rarely participate. Over 90 percent of mammals have multiple mates and even those who form socially monogamous partnerships are often observed "cheating" on their partners.

Although this behavior is common, some animals have earned a special reputation for their promiscuity. Read on to find out who are the biggest swingers of the animal world.

Cambodia's New Anti-trafficking law

A new anti-trafficking law has been passed in Cambodia. It defines all sex work as trafficking and makes all sex work illegal. Thousands of women are now out of work as police close down brothels and crack down on street workers. Sex workers also report shocking abuse at the hands of police and the organisations who are supposed to "rescue and rehabilitate" them.

UK: Quarter of Over-35 Women 'never have sex'

A total of 28% of women said they never make love, with the figure being highest in Scotland (38%) and lowest in the Midlands (32%).

Among those having sex, women without children said they had more orgasms, with 41% saying they orgasm most of the time.

The figure dropped to 12% of women with one child and 14% of those with two.

Most women said the daily grind of the office had an impact on their sex lives, with 67% of those working part time saying they had orgasms most or all of the time compared with 55% of women working full time.

The survey was released by Sky Real Lives to mark the launch of its new series, The Secret Guide To Women's Health.

Singapore: Students Get 'Married' in School

In a video submitted to Stomp, two students 'get married' in their school uniforms, while their friends watched and giggled. The male student proposes to the girl with a small bouquet of flowers; they even exchange rings and she kisses him on the cheek.

The Stomp contributor, Ohemgee, is amused, but also asks if the students should be concentrating on their studies instead.

I am not sure why this even made news. It is unusual to play adult or engage in role playing, even if these are teenagers. What Ohemgee should be asking is if they consummated their marriage, and if they chose to do so, if they are having responsible 'adult' sex.

Tiger's Sexual Prowess Not True

Tiger penis is not a traditional medicine for impotence. It is only 4cm long and it would shorten to half of the size when dried, said Huang Lin Huang of the Committee on Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy, Department of Health of Taiwan.

According to the Compendium of Materia Medica (Bencao Gangmu) - the most complete and comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine book - horse and deer penises could revive vitality.

This is a myth. There was no mention of tiger penis in any of the medical books, said Huang. He added that the sexual intercourse time of a tiger was also very short.

John Mayer for Masturbation

I love this quote:

"I have masturbated myself out of serious problems in my life. The phone doesn't pick up because I'm masturbating. And I have excused myself at the oddest times so as to not make mistakes. If Tiger Woods only knew when to jerk off. It has a true market value, like gold bullion."

"First of all, I don't jerk off because I'm horny. I'm sort of half-chick. It's like District 9. I can fire alien weapons. I can insert a tampon. No, I do it because I want to take a brain bath. It's like a hot whirlpool for my brain, in a brain space that is 100 percent agreeable with itself."

Taiwan: One in Three want new Husbands

One in three Taiwanese women would marry other men if they were given a second chance in life, according to a survey of 1,076 married people conducted by the private Millennium Cultural and Educational Foundation.

But only 17 per cent of Taiwanese men would swap their wives for new ones. The foundation, which promotes family values, warned of a growing "infidelity crisis" as 9.1 per cent of the couples interviewed reported having been through extramarital affairs.

Taiwan's divorce rate has been increasing annually in the past decade to 11.1 per cent in 2008, according to the latest government figures.

Anne Hathaway Left Catholicism after Brother Came Out

Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has revealed her family became Episcopalians after her brother came out. The Devil Wears Prada star grew up as a Catholic in New Jersey but when Hathaway's brother Michael told the family he was gay, they decided to leave their faith.

Hathaway told GQ magazine: "The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out. Why should I support an organisation that has a limited view of my beloved brother?"

The actress said she was currently unsure about her own faith, saying: "So I'm… nothing [no denomination]. F**k it, I'm forming. I'm a work in progress."

Love at the Supermarket?

Chinese singles looking for love this Valentine's day is getting support from a Beijing supermarket.

The "I'm Looking For You" market opened in November 2009, for the China's unofficial "Singles Day" which is marked on the 11th of that month. Since then, the supermarket has attracted more than 1,000 clients and successfully matched more than 50 couples.

The supermarket -- essentially a dating service that offers a venue where singles can meet -- only charges a 20 yuan (1.88 pound) registration fee. Members list their names, ages, income and occupation, along with a picture, and this profile is available for others to view. They are also asked what they would like in a partner.

As the Tiger ushers in the new year, may 2010 be one of love and abundance for all. Have a great one!

Would you settle for Mr Good Enough?

In Lori Gottlieb's new book, Marry Him: The Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough, she says she hesitated before dating she hesitated before dating someone because he had the name of a "nerdy sidekick."

There are two views: for and against settling for Mr Good Enough.

Single women often declare they’d “rather be alone” than settle for someone who doesn’t fill out their (usually unrealistic) checklist. Gottlieb’s advice is: think carefully, ladies. Because, with that mentality, alone is how you’re probably going to end up.

She also said, "If you think all men are commitment-phobes, then commitment-phobes are clearly the only kind of man you date."

It seems there is a lot in there that runs parallel with the principles of Law Of Attraction: You are what you think; You manifest what you believe. You certainly deserve the best and not to 'settle' but do you genuinely believe you want get your ideal him?

Clitoral vs. Vaginal Orgasm

During intercourse, it is the outer third of the vagina that is most stimulated. Some women are able to orgasm through this vaginal penetration. That is, vaginal orgasm — without clitoral stimulation.

However research has shown that (Shere Hite's 1976 survey of 3000 women) only 30% of women can achieve orgasm through intercourse. The clitoris, with over 6,000 nerve endings, is more sensitive than the vagina. As such a clitoral orgasm rather than a vaginal orgasm is more likely.

For a woman's orgasm, her body's response is the same whether or not stimulation originates from the clitoris or the vagina. An orgasm is an orgasm whether by vaginal or clitoral stimulation. In the large majority of women the position for intercourse and the way in which the clitoris is being stimulated through intercourse is not conducive to orgasm and there is no way that intercourse alone can produce an orgasm.

As such any assumption that it is duration of intercourse or penetrative sex that gives a woman mind blowing orgasms is inaccurate. Instead it is going to be in the man’s ability to relax and not rush the moment instead focusing on lots and lots of foreplay. Sexual foreplay allows a woman's body and mind to become prepared for the amount of sexual bliss that will soon arrive. Hence we should emphasize foreplay and not downplay its importance.

Sex Does Cause Wrist Pain

A controversial new U.K. report suggested too much sex is responsible for wrist pain. Repetitive movements during lovemaking put extra weight on the wrists, said a top medical practitioner, which can cause carpal tunnel syndrome - one of the most common types of wrist problem in Britain.

"Sexual intercourse can explain the increase in the overall incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome seen in recent years, since it is the most widely practised activity that uses both hands at the same time," said Dr. John Zenian, writing in the journal Medical Hypotheses.

The syndrome, which results in pain and numbness from trapped nerves, affects as many as one person in 20 and is among the most prevalent forms of repetitive strain injury, which causes 5.4 million sick days every year.

Physiotherapist Sammy Margo said: "This is entirely plausible. Research does show that we are having a lot more sex than we used to and people are trying different positions.

"The missionary position puts a lot of pressure on the wrists of the individual on top. That can result in an over-straining and stretching and even tearing of tissue, which could contribute to carpal tunnel syndrome."

China: Female Migrants Affected by Sexual Frustration too

The problem of sexual frustration was not limited to men who took up jobs away from their spouses and families.

'Many young women who have migrated from rural areas, where sex education is nonexistent, experience a culture shock in bustling cities. They may follow in their friends' footsteps by adopting a more open attitude toward sex,' the China Daily said.

'Some women reportedly take modelling jobs, and others end up married but accepting their husbands' second wives or mistresses. Other women may even go as far as participating in the online sex industry, such as chatting to men online while nude.'

Singapore: 9% of Women have Faced Abuse

A random poll of about 2,000 women aged between 18 and 69 found about 9 per cent had experienced some form of violence in their lifetime - significantly lower than their counterparts in the Czech Republic, Australia and the Philippines.

The International Violence Against Women Survey, developed by global bodies including the UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute, was conducted here last year by the Society Against Family Violence (SAFV) and the National University of Singapore.

Of these, about half had been abused more than once. Also, almost 3 per cent of the women, in particular those aged between 30 and 39 and with tertiary education, had experienced episodes of violence in the past 12 months.

'If you look at the population statistics, there are about 1.3 million women in this age group. So imagine 2.6 per cent of that works out to about 34,000 women... and this could be only the tip of the iceberg,' said Associate Professor Chan Wing Cheong of NUS' Faculty of Law yesterday, at a discussion involving over 20 social service professionals.

Japan: Job-secure Singles Looking for Potential Spouse

People with a secure job are more active than those without in their efforts to search for a partner, according to a survey by a team at Tokyo University.

The university's Institute of Social Science sought to shed light on changes in work and home life. Its survey found that the degree to which workers actively seek out a potential spouse - a process known as konkatsu - depends not only on their eagerness to marry, but also on whether they have a permanent work contract.

About 3,600 men and women aged 22 to 42 nationwide were surveyed between January and March last year. The survey found that out of the workers surveyed, 800 were both employed and not in a relationship. The number excludes self-employed and freelance workers.

Of the workers with secure jobs, 53 per cent of male and 51 per cent of female permanent employees said they were actively seeking a partner, including asking friends and acquaintances to introduce them to someone and participating in matchmaking parties.

On the other hand, only 32 per cent of male and 44 per cent of female non-permanent workers, including part-time and temporary workers, were similarly engaged.

It is generally thought that workers with permanent contracts have little free time to spend seeking a partner because they tend to work long hours compared with non-permanent employees. But Associate Prof. Akane Murakami, a member of the survey team, said this is not always the case, and there are other factors to consider.

Guess which celebrity said this:

“I don’t flirt. Even if you don’t actually touch someone or do anything to them, it’s disrespectful to your husband. I would never do that. I’m very devoted, and he’s the same.”

On the same day, I came across this piece: public displays of affection is apparently acceptable even encouraged including touching each other’s butts.

O'Donnell: 'Lesbians Stay Connected After Divorce'

Rosie O'Donnell's 'divorce' from longtime partner Kelli Carpenter was smooth and drama-free because neither partner wanted to fight and lose touch with each other.

The A League of Their Own star insists women can always find a way to split graciously because they always want what's best for everyone involved.

Do you agree with this? I would attributed it to the emotional maturity of both parties, rather than sexual orientation or gender identity.

Changes to Dating Game

According to a Windows Live survey of over 700 Singaporeans, an overwhelming number (90.6%) said they would use Instant Messenger to ask someone out on a date, whilst some, albeit a much smaller number, (5.9%) would even propose online.

Not only do many people feel it is acceptable to start a relationship online, a quarter of respondents surveyed (24%) said that they would film their most intimate moments via webcam and share it via IM, and almost 60 per cent of Singaporeans admitted to flirting with someone other than their partner online.

Interestingly, whilst most people think it’s acceptable to ask someone out online, only a third of Singaporeans (33.6%) would actually break up with someone over IM.

Soy Doesn't Cause Homosexuality

The owner of a chain of gyms in New Zealand has apologized for an e-mail newsletter claiming that drinking soy milk makes men gay.

The newsletter from Club Physical linked to an article that said use of soy products is "feminizing, and commonly leads to a decrease in the size of the penis, sexual confusion and homosexuality."

No folks. It's not the diet. Soy most definitely does not cause one to be gay, just as it does not cause one to be straight, bent or curved.
