Thanks Allan. Actually I know what Tao is and have several books on it. Most tantra training nowadays is neo-tantra and has elements of Tao in it. Uma is coming in Oct to run several workshops which you may be interested to attend.

Hi Martha,

Most Asians (in general) find discussing such topics offensive to their beliefs. But when challenged, most are unable to have a strong case on their resistance. They just "feel" that is wrong and unsightly.

It's good to have people like you who decides to take on this daunting task of sexual education through little baby steps. I'm sure you also recognizes that more people are seeking advise on their sexual life, which ultimately will affect their relationship, and even health.

Have you explored the health benifits of sexual activities, particularly in the perspective of the Chinese Taoism? I was doing my own research and found it to be very insightful. And interestingly, sex as a means of inducing health benefits have been around in China for more than 5000 years!!!

Would be happy to pass you some of the references if you're keen.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Labiaplasty for cosmetic reasons seems really bad to me. Labia, like everything else human, come in huge variety. Variety is an important part of beauty and or being human. There really is not in most cases a normal. What makes a person beautiful is a belief in themselves and vibrant good health, not the details of appearance. So if there seems to be a problem, seeking self-love and good health are really what is important.

I agree that the sexual impulse is instinctive. However this instinctual part doesn't show us how to express that impulse. What is appropriate in a society in terms of sexuality is completely learned. The earliest sexual experiences is also imprinted on us for life.

There’s clearly two kinds of things we are talking about here, and the author is confounding both in an attempt to promote her own business. There’s the innate, instinctive part of sex which is based on our biology and evolutionary forces, and there’s the part of sex which is shaped by human capacity to enjoy sex in itself, removed from biological imperatives.

Perhaps we can see it like this: humans have an instinctive ability to pick up language, what language is learnt and how it is used depends a lot on how it was taught/acculturated. While language needs to be learnt, this comes naturally, though a bit of teaching wouldn’t hurt. Which is where experts like Martha come in.

But for her to harp so strongly on this point seems a bit excessive.

Why don't they just get them to model their ladies fashion? In a way I am glad that they are making such ridiculous mistakes, because it show up the industry for what it really is - fantasy.
